WHAT TO EXPECT?

Ubatuba sits where rainforest mountains rise straight from the ocean. Some days bring toucans, sea turtles in the shallows, and maybe a dolphin on the horizon.

With 100+ beaches and a real surf culture, our coaches plan each day to the conditions and keep all levels safe.

Between sessions we fall into Litoral Norte life: waterfall dips, boat days to quiet islands, cooking classes, footvolley on the sand, and churrasco in neighborhood spots—sometimes followed by live music and a samba.

Back at the villa, our chef cooks nourishing caiçara plates—fresh fish, seasonal fruit, post-surf soups—so you can recover and roll into the next session fresh.

Book now

Ubatuba is one of Brazil’s surf sweet spots—over 100 beaches along a green, protected coastline where surf is part of daily life. Itamambuca, our home base, became Brazil’s first National Surf Reserve in 2025—proof of how special these waves and this ecosystem are.

March is our favourite season: reliable swell, warm, often crystal-clear 26–27 °C water, and the heavy summer heat has eased. Most breaks here are sand-bottom, so learning feels gentle. With this many options, we pick the spot each day for the best conditions—some days we’ll hike to an isolated beach and surf with rainforest mountains rising straight from the sand and hardly anyone around.

The waves welcome all levels, and coaching adapts to everyone’s experience and confidence in the water.

Surf

We base ourselves in Ubatuba, on the north coast of São Paulo, where the Atlantic Forest meets the ocean. Green mountains rise over the coast, wrapping the beaches and sending many rivers down as waterfalls—giving the region its own kind of magic. Some days bring toucans overhead, sea turtles in the shallows, and the odd dolphin on the horizon.

March is a sweet spot here: warm ~30 °C days, gentler evenings; the heavy rains have eased, the hills stay lush, and the water sits near 27 °C. Life runs outside—swimwear and Havaianas, long daylight, fresh evenings made for post-surf samba.

You can arrive via São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro—we’ll help you find ground transport (about 3–4 hours from São Paulo, roughly 4–5 from Rio).

Nature

Home is a relaxed villa near the beach—airy common spaces, a big table, and enough quiet to sleep well. It’s set up for a small crew, with room to stretch between sessions and stash sandy gear without stress.

Our kitchen leans caiçara: fresh, local, and light. Think tropical breakfasts, post-surf snacks, and family-style dinners that bring everyone together. We cook with market produce and local fish when it’s right; veg-forward by default. Dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.) are happily accommodated with a heads-up, and the menu shifts with the season and what’s best that day.

Villa & Food

Brazil is warm, welcoming, and community-minded—felt in the music, the food, and the way people gather. Much of that happens on the beach. Chairs and umbrellas go up, towels are laid side by side, and vendors pass with açaí or iced mate. People play beach games from morning to sunset; when the sun drops, live music flows from beach bars to patios.

In Ubatuba and along the north coast, that beach rhythm shapes daily life: mornings in the water, afternoons outside, and easy nights at small bars with the occasional samba or forró. Food stays coastal and simple—grilled fish, moqueca, rice, beans, farofa—with tapioca or açaí when you want something light.
