We’re still polishing this page.São Tomé will be live with full info soon.
In the meantime, you can always contact us if you’re curious.

São Tomé & Príncipe is a small island nation just off the west coast of mainland Africa. It feels like an unreal little pocket of the Atlantic. The green jungle, crystal-clear warm water, and the sweetest fruits make it hard not to fall in love straight away.
Surfing is still relatively new in São Tomé, and you feel it in the joyful, welcoming vibe in the lineup. June brings some of the most reliable conditions, and because you’re right in the middle of the Atlantic, there’s almost always a wave somewhere for every level. The island’s best surfers will guide us—they know their home breaks like their own pockets and plan around the conditions to keep it fun and safe.
Between sessions, we'll immerse ourselves in local culture. We’ll join a local capoeira school for a class, visit a cacao farm—one of the island’s most traditional forms of agriculture—and take boat trips to explore different parts of the coastline.
At the villa, we’ll enjoy fresh, nourishing meals as local chefs introduce some of the island’s most unique and delicious dishes and drinks—like kwákwá and moda da terra. We’ll also keep the body feeling good with yoga and body-conditioning sessions, so you can recover properly and stay fresh for the week.

Surf culture in São Tomé is the kind we wish existed everywhere. People share waves, cheer each other on, and the lineup feels genuinely welcoming. June is one of the most reliable months to surf here, with South Atlantic swells feeding different corners of the island. We plan each day around the conditions and the group’s level, choosing the spot and timing that make the most sense — so it stays fun, safe, and we score the best waves available. That’s where local knowledge makes all the difference.
We surf with São Tomé’s best local surfers, led by Kedsom Afonso — one of the first surfers on the island — who knows these breaks inside out. For those who want it, we’ll also do two video analysis sessions during the week to help you see what’s working, what to tweak, and how to level up faster.
All levels are very welcome. Most of us sit between beginner and intermediate. The coaching will adapt to each ones experience and confidence in water.

São Tomé’s culture is deeply shaped by the ocean and island life. You feel it in the rhythm, the language, the food — and the pride people have in their island.
During the week, we’ll join a local capoeira school for a class — part movement, part music, part community — and visit the Diogo Vaz cacao farm, an award-winning producer whose chocolate has been internationally recognised. We’ll also spend time in the south of the island, where the pace feels slower and you get a different side of São Tomé.

São Tomé sits just off mainland West Africa, right on the equator — and you feel it in the climate: warm, humid, and green year-round.
June is our favourite time. The heavier rains have passed, and the island receives more sun. Daytime temperatures usually sit around 25–30°C, with mild evenings. The ocean stays warm, too, so you can surf and swim with boardshorts or bikinis without getting cold.
Over the trip, we’ll see both the north and south of the island, so you get a real sense of São Tomé’s contrasts. The south is often wetter and more lush, with dense jungle. The north tends to be sunnier and drier, with more open landscapes. In between, the island climbs into a mountainous interior, where the air can feel cooler, and the views open out across rainforest to the sea. We’ll also take a boat trip to nearby small islands, each with its own unique atmosphere, and if conditions allow, a surf session out there too.

Our home for the trip is a new hilltop villa in Santana, with a big garden opening out toward the ocean. The views still amaze us every time we come back. There’s a pool, and plenty of space for post-surf hangouts and sunset drinks. The villa itself is cosy, with handmade wooden details, wide windows, and light pouring in throughout the day. Inside, there are three double rooms, plus one room with four single beds.
São Tomé’s cuisine is rich and shaped by what the land and sea give: tropical fruit, fresh seafood, greens, and roots. Over the trip, we’ll taste island classics like kwákwá, calulu, and comida à moda da terra.
Most meals are cooked by Vilma Cunha, a well-known chef in São Tomé, and by Sylvio, Sindia, and Sara — siblings from Santana. Their cooking is deeply São Toméan, and they know how to let the island speak through their food.
We’ll mix villa meals with a few beach meals, and a couple of our favourite authentic local spots.

We’ll be staying together in a cosy new villa in Santana, on the east side of São Tomé, close to many of the island’s main surf breaks. The villa has a big garden that opens out towards the ocean. The views amaze us every time we come back. There’s plenty of space for post-surf hangouts, yoga sessions, and shared moments around the big kitchen table where we’ll eat together. Inside, the villa is full of character, with handmade wooden details, wide windows, and spacious rooms.
The villa has:
Solo travelers who choose a double room, will share a bed with another guest. We always pair female with female and male with male for shared beds. If you’d rather have your own bed, choose a single bed in the 4-bed room. If you’re coming with a friend/partner and want to share together, let us know during booking who you’d like to sleep with and we’ll arrange it.
Private room option: A private room may be available for an extra price — contact us if you’d like to check availability.

The simplest route is usually TAP Portugal via Lisbon, with a direct flight from Lisbon to São Tomé. Round-trip flights are often around €600–€700, depending on the season and how early you book.
Solos are very welcome. In shared rooms we try to match same-sex when possible, private rooms may be available for a supplement (varies by trip).— tell us your preference when booking and we'll keep you updated.
All levels are very welcome. Most of us sit between beginner and intermediate. The coaching will adapt to each ones experience and confidence in water.
Think curious, active humans who love the ocean, are happy to share a house, and feel excited about stepping into a new culture. Some come with a friend or partner, many come solo. The common thread is wanting a week of surf, nature, good company – and a lot of joy – in a warm, community-focused setting.

Yes — it’s a small island, and it generally feels calm and community-based. People tend to know each other. Common sense is always recommended.
Wi-Fi works most of the time, but São Tomé can have occasional cuts, and the same can happen with electricity. We have a generator, which helps during outages — but we wouldn’t recommend planning important work calls during the week.
We recommend bringing up to €150 in cash. We can help you exchange it on the island so you have local money for small personal costs.
We recommend checking with your local travel clinic/healthcare provider about vaccines and precautions for São Tomé.Malaria prevention is often recommended by the WHO — your clinic can advise what’s best for you.
Yes — we provide all essential surf gear. São Tomé doesn’t have a big rental scene, so boards aren’t always new, but w'll have a board for every level. If you prefer, you’re welcome to bring your own board.
Absolutely. We’re flexible — but if you want extra time on the island, we actually recommend staying a bit longer after the trip. By then, the island feels familiar, you know how things work, and it’s a really nice way to slow down.
Yes — airport transfers are included both ways on the official travel dates: 6 June 2026 (arrival) and 14 June 2026 (departure).
We plan one coached surf session per day. On some days you’ll also have time to free-surf if conditions and energy allow. A coached session is usually around 1,5-2 hours in the water, plus time on the beach for warm-up and briefing.
