We’re still polishing this page. This trip will be live with full info soon.
In the meantime, you can always contact us if you’re curious.

Ubatuba sits where rainforest mountains rise straight from the ocean. Here everything is in touch with nature, and it's not rare to see dolphins, sea turtles in the shallows, or a toucan overhead.
With over 100 beaches and a real surf culture, this part of Brazil is a dream for a surf trip. Our coaches plan each day around the conditions, choosing the break that suits the day and everyone's level, keeping all safe and stoked.
Between surf sessions we fall into Brazilian beach culture: waterfall dips, boat trips, footvolley on the beach, and live samba in the evening.
Back at the villa, our chefs cook nourishing Brazilian dishes, making sure you fall in love with the cuisine.

Ubatuba is one of Brazil's surf sweet spots, with over 100 beaches along a green, protected coastline where surf is part of daily life. Itamambuca beach became Brazil's first National Surf Reserve in 2025, proof of how special these waves and this ecosystem are.
March is our favourite season here: reliable swell and warm water. Most of the breaks are sand-bottom, so learning feels gentle. Each day our coaches pick the spot that fits conditions best. Some mornings that means the beach in front of the villa, other days a hike to a quiet beach with rainforest mountains behind you and barely anyone else around.
Coaching is one-on-one, every session filmed, with a video analysis during the week so you can actually see yourself improving. All levels welcome, coaching adjusts to your level.

Ubatuba sits on the north coast of São Paulo state, where the rainforest meets the ocean. Green mountains rise over the coast, wrapping the beaches and sending rivers down as waterfalls, giving the region its own kind of magic.
March is sweet here: warm ~30°C days, gentler evenings. The heavy rains have eased, the hills stay lush, and the water sits around 27°C. Life happens outside in swimwear and Havaianas. The days are long and evenings fresh, perfect for post-surf samba.
You can arrive via São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, we'll help you find ground transport (about 3–4 hours from São Paulo, roughly 5–6 from Rio).

Back at the villa, our chef Daniela Bresne cooks traditional coastal Brazilian meals. She makes sure we're properly nourished and ready for the next session, and that we get a real taste of Brazilian cuisine along the way: tapioca, açaí, moqueca, and more of the coast's classics.
Dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and beyond) are happily accommodated, just let us know in advance.

Brazil is warm, welcoming, and community-minded, felt in the music, the food, and the way people gather. A lot of that happens on the beaches, where chairs and umbrellas go up early in the morning and towels get laid side by side. People play beach games from morning to sunset, and when the sun drops, live samba or forró flows from beach bars to patios.

THE VILLA
Our villa sits on a small hill, facing Vermelhinha beach with a view that still amazes us every time. Forest wraps around the house, and the architecture keeps the colourful, old-style character you see in this region's older homes.
Where we'll sleep
There are three ways to stay, so you can pick what feels right:

Yes. Basic swimming ability is required for safety in the ocean. If you can comfortably swim 200 meters and you’re okay with a bit of tiredness and salt water, you’ll be fine.
Solos are very welcome. In shared rooms we try to match same-sex when possible, and private rooms may be available for a supplement (varies by trip) — tell us your preference when booking and we’ll keep you updated.
Think curious, active humans who love the ocean, are happy to share a house, and feel excited about stepping into a new culture. Some come with a friend or partner, many come solo. The common thread is wanting a week of surf, nature, good company – and a lot of joy – in a warm, community-focused setting.
You should be comfortable being active for a week: paddling, walking on sand, climbing in and out of the water. If you can comfortably swim 200 meters and you’re okay with a bit of tiredness and salt water, you’ll be fine. If you have any injuries or medical conditions, message us before booking so we can give an honest answer.
€500 deposit secures your spot. The remaining balance is due 45 days before the trip. We accept cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, and SEPA bank transfer.
Yes. Bruna Surf Oy is registered in Finland’s travel organiser security register (Matkanjärjestäjien vakuusrekisteri). You can verify our entry by searching for “Bruna Surf Oy” on the register.
See full Terms for details.
No hidden fees. Any add‑ons (e.g., airport transfers, workshops) are listed on each trip page.
All levels are very welcome. Most of us sit between beginner and intermediate. The coaching will adapt to each one’s experience and confidence in the water.
Yes. Required. Your policy must cover surfing and medical care in the destination. Bring your policy number with you.
Yes. If you can’t make it, you can transfer your place to another person up to 14 days before the trip start (subject to our approval). Email us their details and we’ll help make the switch.
We choose spots and times daily based on conditions, brief clearly on the beach, and keep groups small. You’ll need travel insurance that covers surfing.
Yes — we film and shoot throughout the week and share a folder with the group afterward. On some trips (like Martinique) every coached session is filmed, with a personalised video-analysis session midweek.
Please do — most people do. Room setups vary by trip (shared twins or doubles). Check the trip page for what’s available in that edition.
We split the group in two. Five of you go in with five coaches — one coach each — for an hour. The other five have that hour free: paddle out on your own board, sit on the sand and watch, or do nothing at all. After the hour, we swap.
So each surf day you get an hour of coaching that is yours alone, and an hour of water time to use however you want.
Our villas have Wi-Fi that’s fine for messages and light work, but the week is not designed as a full-time workation. Surf times, tides and group plans shape the days, so you’ll need some flexibility. If you just need to check in or answer a few emails, that’s usually totally manageable.
Not on this trip — getting to and from Ubatuba is yours to arrange, and it is listed under what is not included. Most people fly into São Paulo or Rio and take the bus from there.
We will send recommended arrival windows and group shuttle options in your welcome email, so you can travel with other Bruna people if you would rather not do it alone.
Visa rules depend on your passport, so check with your nearest Brazilian embassy or consulate before you book flights. Visas, vaccinations and entry requirements are yours to arrange — they are not included in the trip price. If you are unsure where to start, message us and we will point you in the right direction.
Days follow the surf, so the timing shifts a little with the tides. Most mornings start with coffee and a light bite, then a surf while conditions are best. We come back for a proper breakfast, then yoga and body conditioning. After lunch, the afternoon is for a local activity — like a boat trip — or just time to rest at the villa. We finish with dinner together in the evening.
We need a minimum of 6 guests to run the trip (it’s also stated in the Terms & Conditions). If the minimum isn’t met, we’ll always let you know early and offer clear options.
A lot of people combine the week with extra travel. The Bruna part covers the official trip dates; before and after that you’re on your own. If we know good guesthouses, surf schools or local contacts in the area, we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
We only run trips during each place's surf season, and we choose the spots and dates with the best odds of good waves — so most weeks deliver. It's the ocean, so we can't promise exact conditions every day. If one spot's flat, we drive to find a better one. And if there's ever nothing to surf anywhere, we swap in something else — a local activity, or maybe a video or theory session.
There are three ways to stay, so you can pick what feels right:
Prices and what is still free are shown in the booking section.
Pay in full at checkout, or book with a €500 deposit and settle the balance 45 days before your trip. No additional installment plans right now—the deposit locks your spot.
Warm water (no wetsuit needed most days), beach‑breaks, and swells that can range from waist‑ to head‑high depending on the day. We’ll pick the best banks each morning.
If we ever need to cancel (e.g., safety/operational reasons or not reaching minimum numbers), you can move to another week or receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
Fly into São Paulo (GRU/CGH) or Rio de Janeiro (GIG/SDU).
From São Paulo, you can take an intercity bus from Tietê bus station to Ubatuba. The ride is usually around 4–5 hours, and tickets are typically in the range of €12–20 one way, depending on time and company.
From Rio de Janeiro, the journey is longer: usually 5–6 hours by bus (sometimes via Paraty), with prices roughly around €30–50 one way.
We’ll share recommended arrival windows and group shuttle options in your welcome email, so you can either travel with other Bruna people or choose the route that fits you best.
One to one. In every coached session you have a coach in the water with you, and only you.
